I know a girl,strong and courageous she was To brave to ever let someone see cry Until today, I say to myself As we sit, her head in my lap, my arms around her Waiting to hear the story of what has broken my brave little girl Knowing she will tell eventually, we wait Combing through her hair with my fingers While she snuggles in closer to me, wanting me to hold her tighter I can hear her sniffle into my jeans, when I offer a tissue it is batted away She shakes her head, I try to push the hair back to see her face Starting to pull away from my grasp, trying to leave I push her back, she falls back into my lap with ease,
